What we hear when we sit down with operators
MCP lets AI read real data, but it does not fix a vague question. A convincing number can be mathematically right and managerially wrong.
The greatest value is therefore not that AI knows the numbers. It is that it can ask for the right source, period and context before it answers.
Why fixing a single step is not enough
AI analysis on live data has to be auditable. The user needs to know what was calculated, from which period and from which data.
MCP gives AI tools, not unlimited access
A compatible AI client can call specific published Ellipse tools, for example availability, offers or other analytical sources, within the scope of the connector.
That is different from exporting the whole database by hand or pasting a spreadsheet into the chat.
A good question defines the metric and the period
Instead of asking how things are going, it is better to ask, for example, about the revenue of a specific outlet for the same calendar period and to say whether you are working with VAT.
AI can also ask a follow-up itself if the request is ambiguous.
The answer should show what it is based on
In a management analysis it is important to state the source period, the filters and the metric used.
The user can then quickly check whether AI is comparing what they had in mind.
AI recommends. A person decides
MCP can speed up analysis, the search for gaps or the preparation of scenarios. That does not mean the model should automatically change rates, the budget or the commercial strategy without a check.
The greatest effect comes from combining a fast analysis with the manager's experience.
WHAT CHANGES ON SITE
What changes in the daily work
- Fewer manual exports to a spreadsheet.
- AI works with a more current context.
- Answers are easier to check against the source and the period.
- A manager can try scenarios and hypotheses faster.
- The data stays in Ellipse as the source of truth.

COMMON QUESTIONS
What operators ask us
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol is a standard through which an AI client can use defined tools of an external system.
Does the AI see all hotel data?
Not automatically. The scope is set by the specific MCP connector, the published tools and the permissions.
Is an AI answer always right when it uses live data?
No. It can still misunderstand the question or the metric. That is why the answer should be checkable.
Can the AI change data in the PMS?
Only if such a tool is explicitly published and allowed. Analytical use can be read-only.
HOW WOULD THIS WORK FOR YOU?
Bring one question you still solve in a spreadsheet today
We will show which data the AI needs to read through MCP, how to make the question precise and how to check the result before a management decision.
