What we hear when we sit down with operators
Large resorts have the greatest potential for automation, and often the most isolated technologies. Accommodation, turnstiles, wellness, F&B, room access and payments were added at different times, and each system has its own guest ID.
The result is a difficult front-desk training, several carriers for one guest and a complicated bill. Ellipse tries to give these systems one shared commercial and customer context.
How Ellipse solves it
This is not one extra feature. What matters is that the steps follow one another and the same piece of data does not have to be entered again in every department.
An online purchase can start with a QR ticket
A family buys entry online and receives a QR code. On arrival the order is loaded and, depending on the product, RFID wristbands or another supported carrier are issued.
That connects the online sale with the real entry to the site. The till does not have to enter the same order again.
One wristband can know the zones, the room and the bill
Depending on the technology, an RFID identity can work at the turnstiles, selected access points, the hotel room and identification in F&B. The property defines which zones the guest may enter.
In an extra zone or for a paid product, the spend is posted to the right account according to the rules. Limits and conditions can also be set for individual family members.
The guest can spend on site without a wallet
In the restaurant, the bar or another outlet the spend is tied to the wristband. The guest does not have to carry a card or cash to the pool.
For the operation it is essential that every sale lands on the right customer account, and that limits, a block if a band is lost, and a clear history of movements are in place.
Leaving does not have to end in a queue at one till
A self-service kiosk can read the family's wristbands, show the spend and take payment by card, phone or watch. After payment the status is passed into the exit process.
With a connected customer account, the next step can be settling the bill from the phone. The guest does not have to leave the lounger just to join the queue at the till.
CRM connects a waterpark visit with the wider relationship
If a customer buys through their account, Ellipse can place the visit and the spend on the customer profile. The loyalty programme then does not have to stop at in-house guests.
That opens room for passes, credit, personalised offers or further direct sales to a visitor who may never have slept in the hotel.
What changes in day-to-day operations
- Fewer carriers and fewer separate accounts for one guest.
- Online entry connects with physical entry to the site.
- RFID simplifies movement and spend across the zones.
- Settlement can be split between the till, a kiosk and the phone.
- CRM sees the guest across the hotel, the waterpark and F&B.

COMMON QUESTIONS
What operators ask us
Does one wristband also have to work as a hotel key?
It depends on the compatibility of the access system and the RFID medium. The architecture is designed around the resort's technology.
Can entry be sold online with a QR code?
Yes. Ellipse supports online ticket sales with QR identification and a link into the entry process.
Can a family settle several wristbands at once?
In a self-service scenario you can design a family settlement that reads several wristbands and pays the spend together.
What if the guest loses the wristband?
The property needs a process to block the original medium immediately and to move the rights or the balance safely onto a new carrier.
HOW WOULD THIS WORK FOR YOU?
For a waterpark we do not start with a screen demo. We start with a map of how the guest moves
We draw arrival, turnstiles, zones, the room, F&B, spend and departure. Only then do we decide which technologies Ellipse should connect.
