Just one more night, if possible
The guest doesn’t want to leave and sends a message. The front desk reads it in the morning, but in the meantime, the room has been booked through the website. Or, conversely, they hold the room “just in case,” and in the morning you find out the guest was just thinking it over.
Offer based only on room availability
Self-check-in shows an extension based on availability, not on the guest’s request. When the guest confirms, the night is added to their stay and removed from sale. If the room isn’t available, the guest won’t receive a promise that you’d have to take back in the morning.
The price for the additional night is taken from the price list, which also applies to the website. You don’t negotiate it in a message.
